It may be required by an airline, travel company or insurer, particularly if you have a health condition or have recently had treatment. The assessment reviews your medical history and current health to identify any concerns that could affect your ability to fly safely.

What to expect during the medical
Your Fit to Fly assessment will include:

Following your assessment, you will receive a Fit to Fly medical certificate confirming the outcome of your medical. Your completed certificate will be provided following your appointment.
Certificate validity period
There is no standard validity period for a Fit to Fly certificate. The required validity will depend on the airline, travel provider or organisation requesting it.
