Pre-Placement Medicals.
A pre-placement medical provides employers with an independent assessment of a candidate’s fitness for work before they start their role. The process is managed securely through our online occupational health portal, Orchid Live, with an online health questionnaire sent directly to the prospective employee for completion. The information is then reviewed by an experienced doctor or occupational health nurse at our Worthing clinic, allowing employers to make informed recruitment decisions, identify any workplace adjustments, and support a safe and successful start to employment.

The process
Step 1 - Submit the Referral
The employer submits the pre-placement medical request securely through our occupational health portal, Orchid Live. This allows us to capture the relevant role details and requirements before the assessment begins.
Step 2 - Candidate Completes the Questionnaire
The prospective employee receives a secure link to complete their pre-placement medical questionnaire online. The completed questionnaire is submitted through Orchid Live and reviewed confidentially by our clinical team.
Step 3 – Clinical Review and Assessment
A doctor or occupational health nurse at our Worthing clinic reviews the questionnaire and assesses the information provided against the requirements of the role. Where required, we may request further information or clarification to support the assessment.
Step 4 - Receive the Outcome
Following review, the employer receives a clear outcome and any relevant recommendations securely through Orchid Live. This supports informed decision-making while maintaining a confidential and consistent process for the candidate.

Pre-placement medicals are securely managed through our online occupational health portal. Employers submit requests, candidates complete their pre-placement medical questionnaire online, and all communication, updates, and documentation are managed securely through the platform.
Email clarification (where required)
Following review of the completed questionnaire by a clinician, there may occasionally be a small point that requires clarification. In these cases, a brief secure email exchange may be all that is needed to confirm further details and support an accurate assessment outcome.
Telephone clarification (where required)
Occasionally, a clinician may need to speak with a candidate to clarify a query or obtain further information relating to their completed pre-placement medical questionnaire. These conversations are only arranged where needed.
